If TRAI could be as good as SEBI

Now that govt. is slowly getting out of business, it becomes real imperative of govt. watchdogs to really act like the one! No offence please :)

In that regard I was really amazed to see myself getting Rs.300/- back from SEBI! If TRAI could also pay me automatically whenever I get an unsolicited call/SMS despite being registered for DND list I would be a millionaire by now!

Excel sheet to update share price and Indian mutual fund NAVs

I am still amazed to see that my previous excel sheet to update share quotes in excel is being used by many people. On last count I have received 83 different people's email. (Note : 83% of statistics are made on the moment :) ).

However being enthused by such response I have further modified the excel sheet to even update mutual fund NAVs. Even though most of the mutual funds are not listed on NSE/BSE, AMFI still updates NAVs of *all* the funds on its website. I have written a simple macro to download this file from AMFI website and the update the excel sheet's MFNAVs sheet.

You can download this sheet from here!

And finally, as usual you can use portfolio tab to enter your mutual fund details! Please choose the exact fund name as there in MFNAVs tab. Best would be to copy-paste it from the MFNAVs sheet.

One more thing, so far I did not get any feedback about capital gains tax calculation from any of 83 responses! Would appreciate if somebody has used it and wants to share his experience.

Once again a big disclaimer: I am NOT excel programmer. This excel sheet is result of my curiosity and google search results of sample VBA macros. So please bear this in mind while using and do pass me your feedback.
